Dividend Update November 2018

Whats up fellas, welcome back to the Dividend Mascot dividend blog. I hit a new monthly record, and we only have one more month left for 2018. With out further or do lets go over the dividend income for the month of November =)

Roth IRA

Taxable Account

Total: $65.71 (NEW RECORD)
NEW PAYDAY RECORD: $42.46 (11/15/18)
YoY: 72.69%
Purchases: 6 shares of VZ, 4 shares of PM, & 2 shares of RDS.B

Just entered the $60's and im already making my way to $70's. Im looking forward to hitting that range at the beginning of 2019. The closer i get to my dream of $100 a month, the faster the dividends grow. Just going to keep growing my taxable account until my 2019 Roth IRA contributions become available, then i can FINALLY have some fun with AT&T (wink, wink).

I have officially more than DOUBLED my YTD Dividends 2 years in a row :D

2016: $44.90
2017: $270.03 (X 6.12)
2018: $557.66 (X 2.06)

So this is where im at currently, we still have one more month left so i should end up with $600 and some change for 2018.You know what..............i want to take this to the next level, DOUBLE my YTD dividends 3 years in a row. Every time i hit a milestone or a new record my determination always kicks in to push even higher. When i started this, did i think my dividend story would be like this?? Heck no lol

Well i hit a new monthly record, Doubled YTD dividends twice & hit new payday record, you know what time it is.

Press play to start party

(Timbaland & Justin Timberlake - Carry out)

Ill be hitting them smooth moves with a sweet hat on just like Justin Timberlake when my YTD hits $1,000+  in 2019 XD. Rolling real smooth at 24 with a 4 figure yearly dividend income next year :). Killing the DGI game year over year, but what would make me even happier is seeing my followers (Dividend Mascot's crew) killing the game as well.

Thank you for following my Dividend Blog and Facebook page, much is very appreciated. As always fellas hope you all had a good month with your dividend income, go make that sweet dividend money, and ill see you guys next time :)

Dividend Update October 2018

Whats up fellas, welcome back to the Dividend Mascot blog =) we only have 2 months left for 2018 and im 110% satisfied my dividends YTD performance. Im about to more than double my YTD dividends for the second year in a row.

2016: $44.90, 2017: $270.03, and for 2018 im already over $500+ on my way to $600+ for the year. One question remains.............can i double my YTD dividends 3 times in a row Hmmmm. My projected yearly income is over $750+ on google spreadsheets, and keeps growing and growing because a hand full of my stocks are dripping 1+ share/year. Soon ill have all my stocks in the taxable account doing the exact same thing. Every other month i have go update my spreadsheet because one of my stocks finished dripping a whole share, combined with my hard work contributing money every month thats how you get the momentum going =)

Roth IRA

Taxable Account

Total: $59.99 (only 1 cent off, dang it -_- lol)
YoY: 85.58%
Purchase: 3 shares of PM

Well thats it for this one folks, hope you all had a great month with your dividends. Keep on stacking that sweet dividend money and ill see you guys next time =)

Dividend Update September 2018

Whats up fellas, the Dividend Mascot is back with another monthly update. The $5,500 contributions is now complete, now off to the Taxable account. Not much to say for this month, just going to keep doing my thing pushing my self and my portfolio to the next level.

(this right here is what i call the next level, dont make any excuses folks)

Such a beautiful sight right? Well without further or do lets get to business

Roth IRA

Taxable Account

Total: $56.01
YoY: 100.25%
Purchases:
(Roth IRA) 4 shares of QCOM, 2 shares of WPC, 1 share of O, 2 shares of CVX
(Taxable account) 5 shares of VZ, 3 shares of RDS.B

SO I FINALLY HAVE RDS.B =D, ive been wanting this stock in my portfolio since like late 2016. Will continue to buy more shares of VZ, RDS.B and PM as planned. Ive learned that you cant diversify too quickly because all your holdings will be watered down and not really grow and compound. Which is why i dont diversify as much as i used to. With Less holdings, and heavier weight equals faster compound dividends overall (Mathematics). We are almost done with 2018 guys, we only got 3 months left. 2019 is going to be bad-ass, we will see a more compounding effect next year. Especially with my secret plans with AT&T (wink, wink) you will see when it happens its gonna be awesome.

well i hope you guys enjoyed this short update, keep counting that sweet dividend money, and ill see you guys in the next update =)

Dividend Update August 2018

Whats up fellas, welcome back to the Dividend Mascot's blog. I only have $300 left of my $5,500 Roth IRA, so this is basically the final chapter of my Roth IRA for 2018. Soon ill be moving into the next phase of my investing plan........the taxable account ;). This is where most of the dividend growth will be coming from for 2019. I hope you all had a great month as well.

Without further or do lets get to business

Roth IRA

Taxable

Total: $61.28 (NEW RECORD now into the 60s)
YoY: 119%
Purchase: 9 shares of KO, 4 shares of K
NEW PAYDAY RECORD: $41.44 (8-15-18)
NEW CONTRIBUTION RECORD: $1,100 (Brutal determination)

So i have surpassed $1,000 in contributions with in a month, and i hit a new payday record. The Roth IRA is coming to and end and a start to a new beginning for my taxable account which im very excited to start. So heres an overview of my plan with the taxable account.

When im 40 years old 17 years from now, i want my investments from my taxable account to pay for 90%-100% of my living expenses. Bringing in like $2000+ a month which shouldn't be hard to do in 17 years, its more than enough time to achieve that kind of income. So all my basic living expenses are covered and im still going to work, growing my accounts until im 60 when i fully retire with the combined income from my Roth IRA. This is what i call a layered retirement plan, its all about making my older self's life a whole lot easier, no stressing over bills and etc. I told my Mom about this and she thought it was the coolest thing, not only that i also told her about my ultimate goal of living like Bruce Wayne (the batman) when i retire at 60 she really loved that too. Basing my retirement goal off of a wealthy DC super hero =)

RDS.A, PM, & VZ will be the starter pack for my taxable account, later on ill be adding stocks in a set of 3 paying through each month of each quarter. This will be a high yielding account with quality companies with respectful histories of paying and growing dividends. Im really excited for this guys, big dividend payments will be coming from this account.

Alright now it time to party, new monthly record, new payday record, and a new contribution record. 3 records in a single month =)

Press play to start the party =)

(honorable performance tribute to Michael Jackson)

Dividend Update July 2018

Whats up fellas, welcome back to another monthly dividend monthly update. Just surpassed $300 in earn dividends for the year, surpassing 2017 earned dividends of $270.03. My math predictions tells me that i am guaranteed to double what i made last year and more. If my income stays at $50 a month for the rest of the year i will hit a little over $550. We all know thats not going to happen, my income will definitely continue to increase. Everything is looking pretty good for the year, lets see if i can do $650 in earned dividends this year =)

Without further or do lets get to buisness

Roth IRA

Taxable Account

Total: $49.30
YoY: 105.24% (i miss +200%, im getting greedy lol)
Purchase: 10 shares of KO, and 6 shares of QCOM

QCOM is almost at 1 share a year DRIP rate, buying around 88% of 1 share a year. (CSCO at 88%, WPC at 93%, O at 99%, & MAIN at 161%)  Im noticing my dividend payments are starting to compound faster with my DRIP strategy, thats looking good as well (math equations on top of more math equations).  Soon ill have $1000 left of my $5,500 contribution limit, once thats complete the Taxable account will come into play. KO and LNT will be my next purchases in August.

Well thats it for this one folks, just a quick little update. Dont worry about the income going in a downtrend thats only temporary i got that taken cared of. Next quarter the dividends will look much better =) Hope you guys enjoyed this short update, keep stacking them sweet dividends, and ill see you guys next time.

Dividend Update June 2018

Whats up fellas, hope you all had a great month with your dividend payments. This month was not bad at all now being in the $50+ range now so im feeling warm and fuzzy with my portfolio's performance =). So last month i explained my strategy with Drip ratio's, and 1 share drip per year math formula's, basically my Drip Strategy Mark II. Why is it that i call it Mark II, because my first strategy (Mark I) was to stop diversifying and just buy more shares of my current holdings, the flaw with Mark I is that i was all over the place, and i didn't have a strict organized buying plan like i do now. All of this is to better my chances of compounding my dividend income to $1,000 a month by 30 years old. At the end of last months blog i told you guys that i would add a Taxable account, this will be part 2 of my dividend strategy =) i will discuss my strategy with that after we go over the dividend income.

Without further or do lets get to business

Roth IRA

Taxable Brokerage Account

Total: $51.73
YoY: 71.51%
Purchases: 11 shares of LNT, 7 shares of QCOM

It feels soooo good getting back into my groove again, my body feels refreshed working my crazy hours again guys =). Who knows i may even surpass $1,000 in contributions with in a month ($1,000 is my current record). Ok so currently ill be funding LNT, QCOM, and KO, these 3 stocks have the highest DRIP ratios compared to the rest of the stocks that pay in the 3 separate payment schedules. As ive said before, once they reach DRIP 1 share a year i move on to the next stock with a slightly lower DRIP ratio and repeat the whole process again.

Taxable Account Strategy

Ok so i would call this the second portion of my DRIP strategy i explain in the last update. The blog was long enough last month so i decided i would explain everything else in this months update. So your probably wondering.......what dividend stocks do i plan on holding in this account. VZ, RDS.B & PM 3 strong high yielding dividend stocks and as a bonus there all cornerstones in there different sectors (Telecom, Energy, & Tobacco). I'll leave it at 3 holdings for right now make push it to 6 holdings later down the road, i want to keep this account short and simple while my Roth IRA is nice and fined tuned with 23 holdings ;)

So once i max out my $5,500 limit for my Roth IRA, im going to bust my tail end off for these 3 holdings. I came up with a strict investing schedule that could potentially triple my dividend income in 2019. So if i make like $550 in 2018, theoretically math wise i could end up with $1650 in dividends earned throughout next year in 2019. This is how it can be done, once i max out my Roth IRA im going to funding those 3 holdings for 6 months straight then ill switch over to my Roth IRA for 6 months and repeat the process over and over again. Doing this will force my Taxable Account to grow and DRIP like crazy because theres only 3 holdings in that account.

So what are my dividend goals with this Taxable account? Well i say by 40 years old (17 years from now) i would like to be receiving like $1500+ on a monthly basis from this account as a birthday present to myself XD, this will act as supplemental income in the future. I have a feeling that im underestimating the power of compound interest it could end up higher but we will see how things go, dont plan on retiring until im 60 so ill still be growing both accounts making my supplemental income continue to grow. 40 year old self will greatly appreciate this amazing birthday present, receiving them sweet fat dividend checks =) (having them sweet shades on with a nice hat on turned to the side rollin real smooth at 40)

Well thats it for this update folks, hope you guys are enjoying the blog. If you want to see more of the "Dividend Mascot" make sure you go click on that follow button for my Facebook page. As always people, keep on drippin them sweet dividends and ill see you guys next time =)

Dividend Update May 2018

Welcome back fellas, to the new and improved dividend blog. My new official blog name is "Dividend Mascot", those two words basically described my entire blog from the very beginning to now. I decided to keep the classic name on the Facebook page but under the username @dividend.mascot. Alright alot of great things has happens during the month of May. Ive hit another monthly record AGAIN times 2 baby, and ive came up with a new dividend compounding strategy to grow my income even faster. Looking back my dividend income has increased at a pretty good rate but ive came up with a mathematical way to have it grow even faster. Before ive mentioned just buying more of your current holdings will grow your dividends much faster then to keep on diversifying, but that just hits the surface of my new strategy ;) but lets go over the dividend income first.

Without further or do lets get to business

Total: $56.17 (hits the dab, new record times 2 baby)
YoY: 251%
NEW PAY DAY RECORD: $37.05 (5-15-18)
Purchase: 4 shares of KMB

Didn't i say if i just keep on scaling up on all my current holdings my dividend income would grow faster, well there you go :) Ok so i have surpassed the $50 mark, everything is looking good so far. I have around a 70% chance of hitting $75 this year. As usual my plans are still on auto-pilot, which means ill be buying more shares of my current holdings.

College/Education

I should add in that my plans with going to college to learn the skill trade of aircraft mechanic did not work out unfortunately, i lost my morning shift due to higher seniority and had to go back to my old afternoon shift for the next 3 months. In order for my plan to work i had to work in the morning then go to my classes in the afternoon but i was smart to wait until the shift bid happened at my job to see if i was able to keep my morning shift. Im a little disappointed but oh well maybe next time, i guess this means i have no other choice then to get back into my old groove again guys. Pushing upwards of $1,000 invested within the month ( cracks knuckles & back) like the good old days =). Ive been in cruise mode this whole time, i think its time to get off the bench and get serious again.

DRIP Strategy Mark II

So my DRIP strategy started off simple by just buying more of your current holdings, but i noticed that im not really pushing my portfolio to its full potential when it comes to the DRIP compounding rate. So in May i constructed a new compounding strategy to where i scale up my holdings to compound by 1 share a year, then i move on to another stock leaving the stock thats buying 1 share a year alone. As you can see on the chart, you will noticed some stocks are in green and theres 2 columns in gray. The stocks highlighted in green are complete, which means there compounding by 1 share a year i use even shares to keep it neat (no compound interest added). The 2 columns in gray is the core of my compounding formula, I pay attention to the DRIP ratio's of my stocks (how many shares or how much it cost to compound by 1 share/year) the stocks with the highest DRIP ratio's will be funded first while the stocks with the lowest DRIP ratios will be done. The higher the ratio the lower the cost, the lower the ratio the higher the cost. By the time i get 100% of my portfolio compounding by at least 1 share a year, the stocks i left alone earlier could be compounding by 5 or even 10 shares a year by then. By doing this ill have a much better snow ball effect for my dividend income. As of right now i would like to have 25% of my holdings compounding by 1 share a year by the end of 2018. 2019 will be 50%, 2020, will be 75% and 2021 will be 100%. Who knows i may hit 100% earlier, this ladies and gentlemen is my DRIP strategy Mark II. Ignore BP, and RDS.B there just in there in case i diversify into those stocks. My 30 year old self  7 years into the future will greatly appreciate this, this strategy will better my odds of hitting $1,000 a month in dividends by my 30th birthday, by then the portfolio will be DRIPPING LIKE CRAZY. So heres a little message to my older self  7 years into the future..........."Your welcome" =) (gives older self a firm handshake through a time portal lol)

What it felt like putting this strategy together =)

The enthusiasm Tony Stark has for building his iron man suits is the same kind of enthusiasm i have for building my portfolio =)

Well as always got to end my blog with a lovely celebration song to surpassing $50 and hitting another monthly record again. We are now at the half way mark of 2018, im really enjoying the market this year. Im a big fan a bear markets, because i love grabbing them cheap prices =)

Press Play =)
(gotta love them dance moves)

Well thats it for this update guys, hope all of your dividend portfolios did well in May. There is alot more to talk about but ill continue in the next update. Ill be discussing my plans with my new Individual Taxable brokerage account i created with Vanguard =) so now i have my Roth IRA which is my main, then my taxable account which will be my secondary both together with Vanguard. I will discuss more on that in the next update, hope you guys enjoyed this update, keep on stacking them sweet dividends and ill see you guys next time =)

Dividend Update April 2018

Whats up fellas, back with another dividend update hitting a new monthly dividend record. Been seeing the market on a down trend so far this year, which isnt really a bad thing, because all your stocks are at a cheaper price. I noticed 4% yields popping up from stocks i never would of thought would have a yield that high like KMB, GIS, and PG for example. I love down markets, get to capture those higher yields left and right =)

Alright lets go over the dividend income

Total: $44.89 (getting close to the $50 range)
YoY: 431% (these numbers surprise me every time)
Purchase: 2 shares of IBM

Dividend income looking beautiful as always, i plan on buying KMB next. Going to keep spreading my money across all my current holdings. I don't feel the need to diversify right now im just going to stay on auto-pilot and just keep scaling up on my current holdings.

Why i invest like a retiree

People say that i invest like a retiree and that i should buy growth stocks since im young in my early 20s. Look i understand where there coming from but dividend investing and compound interest is how i roll baby. Like look at the year over year percentage increase like that what im all about fellas, its my style i roll with the retirees they cool. I dont ever plan to touch the principle in retirement, the only thing ill be touching are the dividend payments. So even if i have a $10 million portfolio at 60 years old, ill just be spending the interest leaving the principle alone re-investing any left over dividends i dont need. Im basically building a big trust fund for the 60 year old Michael Johnson, i just want him to have a bank account filled with tons of cash with no worry of living expenses. The principle will just be a pretty number to look at every morning. To make retirement goals more clear i want to be living like Bruce Wayne (batman) when i retiree =). 65 year old self be pulling up at a car show, in a blacked out custom built hot rod with a batman design shooting big flames out the exhaust, has a sweet hat with some sweet shades on and a big smile.

When i hit a new record i always have a song to celebrate to, my retirement goals are based off the wealthy DC character Batman (im going to with that for life), thats how i want to be living like when i retire =) you know what maybe Jaden Smith can explain it better.

Press play =)

If you got this far, i got some news for you. Im planning on changing my dividend blog and Facebook page name to something that would make better since (drum roll please)..................."The Dividend Mascot" (or just dividend mascot) that title alone describes exactly how i am with dividends i couldn't think of a better suited title. Name change will be official during the next update, hope you guys enjoyed keep stacking them sweet dividends and ill see you guys next time =)

Dividend Update March 2018

Whats up guys, welcome back to another dividend update =). Dividend income still looking good as always, if i can get it up to the $60-$70 range by the end of the year then ill be satisfied. I also got some great news, looks like we just passed the 1 year anniversary for this blog, and my Facebook page. So since we reached this milestone i have something really cool to share with you guys. Below is a video i saw when i was 19 years old, this video has literally made me a muti-millionaire (possibly a deca-millionaire). Before i said that i felt extremely lucky to start investing in dividend stocks at 20 years old. Its like every-time i mention my age people comment saying they wished they did the same thing. So heres a old Dave Ramsey video i saw back in 2015 that changed my life forever =)

I love the part where Dave says "Thats a really nice chart if i was 19" and the funny part was i was actually 19 at the time XD. After that i was watching tons and tons of videos of Dave Ramsey and investing. Then later came across Kevin O'leary from the TV show shark tank, that is when my obsession with dividends started and the rest is history. Me and Kevin are like twins lol both our mindsets are exactly the same when it comes to money, we both love to make investments so later we can just sit back and receive a check =)

Without further or do lets get to business =)

Total: $38.98 (250% YoY)
Purchase: 5 shares of T and 4 shares of GIS
(gives T a fist bump, thats my boy 💓💓💓)

So i saw that T and GIS were at a decline so i decided to purchase both of them, T at 5.7% yield and GIS at 4.3% yield. I love capturing higher yields on dividend stocks that we know that will be around for a very long time. Like lets say KO had a 20% decline (i wish lol) and now its yielding 5%, i would go buy some shares capturing that 5% yield getting a dividend boost before it bounces back to its average price. The one thing you should NEVER EVER do is just search for high yields, your going down a dangerous path if you do that my friend. When the opportunity occurs thats when i strike. Until the next opportunity comes up, i just dollar cost average on all my purchases.

My next buy could be IBM, i need to show my other dividend stocks some love. I had a lot of nostalgia searching for that Dave Ramsey video, when i was 19 i didn't think i would be this passionate about dividends. Anyway guys i hope you enjoyed this update, keep on cashing them dividends and ill see you guys next time =)

Dividend Update February 2018

Whats up fellas, im back with another dividend update. I be hittin the dab looking at that chart, i almost hit a new dividend record already. I went hard for the month of February hitting a new contribution record within a month. I have a video of a character showing my determination for February. Getting back into my groove again, after 2 month of rest im getting back into my 14 hour days again, but i do have some news which ill get into later on in this post.

$1,000 in contributions on $10/hr in 1 month
(character with dark black eyes resembles my determination when im my good old groove)

Probably the highest i can go for right now, as of right now my limit is $1,000 in a month when im in my groove...........but i want to go ever higher ;) which is why i some news to discuss once i go over the dividend income. btw i just got a raise going from $9.47/hr to $10/hr, i will also talk about my job along with the news. Ill be honest when i started this account in November of 2015, i never thought i would ever invest $1,000 in a month but overtime i just pushed harder and harder little by little. Now a days its 2nd nature, when i started my budget was $100 a month, because of a Dave Ramsey video i saw when i was 19 years old. I wonder how Dave Ramsey would react to this lol he probably be like "Good lord kid?!?" i would respond saying "sorry Mr. Ramsey but i cant help it lol", alright enough chit chat lets go over the dividends =)

Without further or do, lets get to business :)

Total: $43.19
NEW PAYDAY RECORD: $29.03 on Feb 15th (hits the dab)
Purchase: 11 shares of OHI, 3 shares of CVX, and 5 shares of WPC

Alright so i started off funding my 3 big boys early on in the year, to get that compound interest rolling early. My yearly strategy is to get the dividend momentum going super early in the year with my highest yielding stocks. The year over year for February 2018 is 412.94% increase which is awesome, but January 2018 was even more insane having a YoY of 3440.24% =D. My next purchase will most likely be CSCO for March update.

Big news and changes

So i said that the highest i could possibly go as of right now without hurting myself is $1,000 of contributions with in a month, and i said i want to go even higher. The only way that can happen is that my pay has to go up. Which is why im announcing that i will be going to trade school to become an aircraft mechanic. Hope to working for a big Airline like American Airlines, what my job is currently is that i work for an airline called American Eagle. I work outside loading your bags on to the plane, ive pushed planes out the gate, pulled in planes into the gate, and even marshaled in a planes with bright orange sticks,  ive done it all. Ivw worked in the airline industry for around 3 years. I worked for Spirit Airlines for 2 years, and now im currently at American Eagle about to hit my 1 year on March 22nd. I plan on getting my A&P Technician license in a little under 2 years, i can have a job set for me right out the gate at American Eagle starting at $17/hr for the first 6 months then i get a $3 raise making $20/hr. Shout out to any aircraft mechanics reading this ;)

You guys saw what i was able to do on $9-$10/hr just imagine if i was making like lets say $30/hr........i dont even want to image what kind of numbers i can do with my Roth IRA with that kind of income. Just thinking about it give me goosebumps lol so that means i will not be able to get into my groove again for a while :( sorry guys. To spoil the big surprise i was planning on maxing out my contributions with in the first 6 months of the year, that would of been a great show, but the sacrifice must be made. Ill still be buying dividend stocks but it will be like $350 a month in contributions. Even at that im still at more than 3 times the recommended amount to invest a month to be a millionaire by 65 if your starting at the age of 25.

Well guys thats it for this months update, i hope you guys enjoyed keep on earning them sweet dividends and ill see you guys in the next update =D

Dividend Update January 2018

Whats up guys welcome back to my monthly update, and after looking at this chart.........you know what give me sec............(takes a sip of some champagne) i had to take a little sip after seeing that year over year lol and guess what i upgraded to 23 years old on 2/6/18 =). We ONLY 1 MONTH in and im already making 2017 look like a bag of peanuts XD. This is going to be a sweet and short update =)

Heres a little bonus for you guys, i forgot to share this in the last update. Isnt that just beautiful, maxing out your $5,500 limit in your Roth IRA is a wonderful feeling =) (every-time i see this i just want to do the Michael Jackson moon walk)

So without further or do lets get to business =)

Total: $29.03 (not bad for start of the year)
Purchase: 5 shares of O

I am more than satisfied with January, and you know what i dont need to hit $100 a month in 2018 to be happy with my portfolio. As long as im making 2017 looking funny im all good, but next month is going to be lit though.........thats all im going to say (wink, wink). Anyways this is just a little short update, like i said im really happy with this month. Hope you guys enjoyed, keep on cashing in them sweet lovely dividends and ill see you guys next time =)

Dividend Update December 2017

Hello everyone =) man does it feel good to be back, took a little vacation from investing through December and January. Happy New year guys we are now in 2018 wow, 2017 went by fast guys. Check out that lovely chart above, isn't that just beautiful. A nice set of beautiful stairs going from like $8 in dividends made in a month to almost $45 in dividends made in a month that is just amazing, thats how you end the year baby =D. So that alone shows that i can surpass $100 in dividend income a month this year, so bring it on. I didn't expect to get into the $40 range until early 2018, so this chart is a symbol of just 100% hard work and pure dedication, and im going to hit $100 a month whether the math likes it or not. So what i like to do at the end of the year is go over all the yearly stats, i got alot of questions from my November update asking how much of my own money did i actually invest in 2017. Im going to do the best i can to show you guys as much detailed stats as i can going over pretty much everything. Reason why the update came soo late was because i just been really busy lately.

Dividend Income review

alright fellas lets get to business =)

Total: $44.49 (NEW RECORD x3, punches hard through the air)
Purchase: 6 shares of MAIN

Like i said before this is the perfect way to end 2017, hitting a new dividend record 3 TIMES in a row back to back, lets go baby. If you found 2017 entertaining well you might want to strap on your seat belts and get ready for 2018. 2017 was me winning the battle, but i haven't won the war. So as you can see i got paid by VWOB twice, and i think sometimes at the end of the year i get early dividend payments that were supposed to pay me the following year but for some reason i get paid early. So VWOB will not be included in my next update. Surprisingly i did actually invest some money in December, i had like $300 just sitting in my balance in my Vanguard account and so i was like might at well put that money to work =). Bought some more of MAIN on 12/28/17 making it my first 4 figure holding, so lets give an applause for good old MAIN :3.

Total Dividends Year over Year

So as you can see i destroyed 2016 lol like there is no comparison. What will be really interesting is to see how my 2018 performance will compare to 2017, if i can hit like $750 for 2018 that would be awesome =).Here is some more data on the yearly dividends. The portion that is in the red box are ETF's i sold at the beginning of 2017.

1st place goes to MAIN with $42.65, 2nd place goes to O with $27.03, and 3rd place goes to CVX with $24.06 =) (this is just based on the stocks not ETF's)

So if you made it this far here is your reward =) the one question that was asked from my November update was how much did i actually invest throughout 2017 (drum roll please)..............$7605.........there is no excuse guys, go out there work hard and max out your $5,500 contribution. So lets do some math, $7605 plus $2,201.44 is $9806.44, so thats before we add in dividends and capital gains which is not bad 2017 was an awesome year. Btw the portfolio did a 6.7% performance for the year which is just fine, but hear this 2016 was over 14% =)

So i hope you guys enjoyed all of this extra data i shared on this update, and its crazy to think that im starting my third year in dividend investing like time sure flies by, which is why im making the sacrifices NOW while my older self can go out and enjoy life without the worry about money or bills. I want him to be really wealthy like im talking in the high 7 figures range, and if im lucky i can achieve a 8 figure retirement living on just the dividends leaving the principle alone "dont spend the principle, only the interest" Kevin O'leary quote =). I always talk about my super long term goals, and im so glad that i take this stuff so seriously at 22 years old. Like i feel very lucky to have this kind of mindset at my age, and ive seen people even younger than me thinking the same way which is beautiful.

So lets talk about shorter term goals, which i rarely talk about. So my goal is to earn a little over $1,000 a month by 30 years old so that gives me 7 to 8 years which is very realistic. Just imagine that, ill be 30 years old and im making close to what someone makes off of social security on average, and theres a good chance ill be making alot more than $1,000 a month by then. I can just imagine my high-school friends giving me a confused look saying "how the heck you do that?" XD Btw a fellow investor (named John) commented on my November post challenging me to see whos portfolio will be bigger by the end of the year, since both our portfolios are similar size and we are basically the same age. Well challenge accepted, i gave you a 1 month head start lol. Looks like ill be getting back to my good old groove alot earlier than i thought. That means your going to see intense months like the November 2017 and September 2017 updates more often, because i can never let go of my goal of hitting $100 a month in dividends in 2018. Well thats it folks hope you guys enjoyed, keep earning them sweet dividends and ill see you guys next time ;)

You guys didn't actually think i was going to end this update without having a rave party did you? I just achieved a new monthly record 3 TIMES IN A ROW.........so lets get this party STARTED =D

Press play to start rave party =)
