Dividend Update December 2017

Hello everyone =) man does it feel good to be back, took a little vacation from investing through December and January. Happy New year guys we are now in 2018 wow, 2017 went by fast guys. Check out that lovely chart above, isn't that just beautiful. A nice set of beautiful stairs going from like $8 in dividends made in a month to almost $45 in dividends made in a month that is just amazing, thats how you end the year baby =D. So that alone shows that i can surpass $100 in dividend income a month this year, so bring it on. I didn't expect to get into the $40 range until early 2018, so this chart is a symbol of just 100% hard work and pure dedication, and im going to hit $100 a month whether the math likes it or not. So what i like to do at the end of the year is go over all the yearly stats, i got alot of questions from my November update asking how much of my own money did i actually invest in 2017. Im going to do the best i can to show you guys as much detailed stats as i can going over pretty much everything. Reason why the update came soo late was because i just been really busy lately.

Dividend Income review

alright fellas lets get to business =)

Total: $44.49 (NEW RECORD x3, punches hard through the air)
Purchase: 6 shares of MAIN

Like i said before this is the perfect way to end 2017, hitting a new dividend record 3 TIMES in a row back to back, lets go baby. If you found 2017 entertaining well you might want to strap on your seat belts and get ready for 2018. 2017 was me winning the battle, but i haven't won the war. So as you can see i got paid by VWOB twice, and i think sometimes at the end of the year i get early dividend payments that were supposed to pay me the following year but for some reason i get paid early. So VWOB will not be included in my next update. Surprisingly i did actually invest some money in December, i had like $300 just sitting in my balance in my Vanguard account and so i was like might at well put that money to work =). Bought some more of MAIN on 12/28/17 making it my first 4 figure holding, so lets give an applause for good old MAIN :3.

Total Dividends Year over Year

So as you can see i destroyed 2016 lol like there is no comparison. What will be really interesting is to see how my 2018 performance will compare to 2017, if i can hit like $750 for 2018 that would be awesome =).Here is some more data on the yearly dividends. The portion that is in the red box are ETF's i sold at the beginning of 2017.

1st place goes to MAIN with $42.65, 2nd place goes to O with $27.03, and 3rd place goes to CVX with $24.06 =) (this is just based on the stocks not ETF's)

So if you made it this far here is your reward =) the one question that was asked from my November update was how much did i actually invest throughout 2017 (drum roll please)..............$7605.........there is no excuse guys, go out there work hard and max out your $5,500 contribution. So lets do some math, $7605 plus $2,201.44 is $9806.44, so thats before we add in dividends and capital gains which is not bad 2017 was an awesome year. Btw the portfolio did a 6.7% performance for the year which is just fine, but hear this 2016 was over 14% =)

So i hope you guys enjoyed all of this extra data i shared on this update, and its crazy to think that im starting my third year in dividend investing like time sure flies by, which is why im making the sacrifices NOW while my older self can go out and enjoy life without the worry about money or bills. I want him to be really wealthy like im talking in the high 7 figures range, and if im lucky i can achieve a 8 figure retirement living on just the dividends leaving the principle alone "dont spend the principle, only the interest" Kevin O'leary quote =). I always talk about my super long term goals, and im so glad that i take this stuff so seriously at 22 years old. Like i feel very lucky to have this kind of mindset at my age, and ive seen people even younger than me thinking the same way which is beautiful.

So lets talk about shorter term goals, which i rarely talk about. So my goal is to earn a little over $1,000 a month by 30 years old so that gives me 7 to 8 years which is very realistic. Just imagine that, ill be 30 years old and im making close to what someone makes off of social security on average, and theres a good chance ill be making alot more than $1,000 a month by then. I can just imagine my high-school friends giving me a confused look saying "how the heck you do that?" XD Btw a fellow investor (named John) commented on my November post challenging me to see whos portfolio will be bigger by the end of the year, since both our portfolios are similar size and we are basically the same age. Well challenge accepted, i gave you a 1 month head start lol. Looks like ill be getting back to my good old groove alot earlier than i thought. That means your going to see intense months like the November 2017 and September 2017 updates more often, because i can never let go of my goal of hitting $100 a month in dividends in 2018. Well thats it folks hope you guys enjoyed, keep earning them sweet dividends and ill see you guys next time ;)

You guys didn't actually think i was going to end this update without having a rave party did you? I just achieved a new monthly record 3 TIMES IN A ROW.........so lets get this party STARTED =D

Press play to start rave party =)
