Dividend Update April 2017

Alright my fellow dividend lovers its that time of the month again, and honestly i thought i was going to be disappointed for this months performance but im not. I can understand the frustration some people might have with there dividends but at the same time would you rather be making $0 a month in passive income and stay in the rat race with everyone else.......exactly which is why im thankful for every dollar i earn in dividends. I am thankful to be 22 years old and to be investing for the 45 year old me (basically investing for the future), rather than blowing all that money on lets say a really nice big plasma screen tv lol. Don't get me wrong i love big Tv's just like anyone would, but you must have your priorities right. You wanna know what kind of vision i have for the 45 year old me? alright heres the story.

 Story Time =D
i can see him driving on the highway in a really nice Maserati, taking a drive to go visit his family. Suddenly his IPhone 20 vibrates and he takes a look at a message saying Coca-Cola has made a transaction of $7500 into your checking account.................thats the kind of life i want for him. i want him to be a very happy man, with no worries. By the time i do get to that age ill be crying with happiness because ill be soo thankful that my younger self thought of all these things soo many years ago, i told my mother all of this the other day and she wish she thought the same way when she was my age but shes doing just fine, my parents are about to retire btw cant wait to see them enjoy a great retirement.

 Yearly dividend chart

Ok guys story time is over, lets get to business (i sometimes like to start off my dividend updates with a story) so i have some explaining to do as to why i came short of $10 this month, and you will see why once i update my portfolio snap shot after i publish this blog. So without further or do lets go over the dividends for April.

Total is $8.45.....not bad, pretty much the same as February

So why is it that my dividends did not surpass $10 this month, well because i did not buy before the ex-dividend date (i forgot lol). On 3/27/17 i bought 16 shares of MAIN but the ex-date was 3/17/16, and on 4/17/17 i bought 12 shares of O but the ex-date was 3/30/17 lol guys i always love to buy before the ex-date but for some reason i forgot to check that before i bought, but oh well lol my dividends will look fabulous in May. So i really was suppose to earn $3.15 from O and earn $3.80 from MAIN, so the total would of been $14.02. But check this out i just recently found out that MAIN is giving out a SPECIAL DIVIDEND in June so ill receive my regular dividend plus a BONUS of $5.60......i feel warm and fuzzy already lol.

So in the next few weeks my next buy will be (CVX) Chevron the good old oil, will buy on 5/12/17 just days before the ex-dividend date. I said REIT's are like my #1 favorite type of investments, Oil might be ranked #2 or #3. Theres this one oil stock that has one hell of a lovely dividend yield but cant buy it because it can be waaay to volatile.......its Royal Dutch Shell RDS/A or B but it pays in march, my March schedule have enough money coming in, its the January and February schedules that need more dividends.

So thats it for this one folks, gave you some additional info on whats gonna happen in the next few weeks. May is going to be a fun month so i hope you guys enjoyed, keep cashing in them lovely dividends and ill see you guys next time ;-)
